This year’s BCS national championship game was one for the books.

After falling behind 21-3, Florida State rallied to win 34-31 behind a game-winning touchdown with just 13 seconds remaining. But the game would have been a lot different if it weren’t for some players from Palm Beach County.
Not only did Glades Central grad Kelvin Benjamin catch the game-winning score for Florida State, but Park Vista grad Tre Mason racked up over 200 yards of total offense for Auburn in the contest. Palm Beach County should be proud.
Let’s take a look at how some of the players from the area did in Monday’s national championship game.
Auburn RB Tre Mason (Park Vista): 34 carries for 195 yards and 1 TD; 1 catch for 42 yards and 1 TD.
Mason finished the season with 1,816 rushing yards and 23 TDs on 317 carries.
Florida State WR Kelvin Benjamin (Glades Central): 4 catches for 54 yards and 1 TD (game-winning 2-yard TD catch with 13 seconds remaining).
Benjamin finished the season with 50 catches for 957 yards and a team-high 14 touchdowns.
Auburn K Cody Parkey (Jupiter): Knocked in a 22-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, and he missed a 33-yard field goal in the second quarter. He also finished with two touchbacks on six kickoffs.
Parkey made 15 of his 21 field goal attempts this season.
Auburn WR Marcus Davis (American Heritage): 1 catch for 26 yards.
Davis finished the season with 23 catches for 217 yards and one TD.
